It's been a while...
Life comes at you a mile a minute. For the past two years, mine has hit the gas pedal at I'd say a good three miles per. So it's been difficult to get to post anything.
Plus, my life has been recently absorbed by the mundane and slightly Stepford: Going to Costco, meeting with the interior decorator about curtains and pillow fabrics and more furniture, unpacking boxes (still!), attending birthday parties, Portuguese classes, touring fitness clubs, and the like.
But at least V is home now. We get to enjoy silly things together, like dinner after work, brushing our teeth side-by-side, and fighting over who gets to use the cool new vacuum.
There was a time in my life that mostly focused on Friday nights (with Karen), 5:30 p.m., Eddie Rickenbacker's for bloody marys and crackers-n-cheese, then onto some hipster club where we'd sip the then-obscure Cosmo with our Chanel Vamp-colored, manicured nails, or perhaps we'd walk through the Broadway Tunnel to Shanghai Kelly's for beer and a Bart Simpson.
Yes, truly, this time it's real, I'm really getting old.
